About me
Oh, hi there! It’s great to see you— I do love a bit of attention.
My name is Jess and I am a passion-fueled, people-connecting, endlessly curious storyteller; but let’s start with the basics first.
I was born and raised in LA and didn’t go too far for undergrad; I graduated from Loyola Marymount University with honors, a BBA in marketing, and a minor in environmental studies. After college, I immediately launched my career in media starting as an Assistant Media Planner at Zambezi. I couldn’t have asked for a better company to launch my career; I learned the full process of launching a media campaign and was able to take charge of my work eventually being promoted to Media Planner. I gained experience working in digital, programmatic, TV, OTT, radio, OOH, and print. I eventually moved over to Initiative (part of IPG) working on one of their biggest clients— T-Mobile. A different experience from my previous boutique agency, but valuable all the same. My excitement and interest in digital media only grew.
While I was at Initiative, I started attending the University of Southern California to obtain my masters degree in communication management (marketing analytics concentration). My time at USC has been exceptionally rewarding, especially alongside working full-time as I’ve come to think about my career and my interactions on a deeper level. I’m set to graduate Spring 2025!
After wrapping up my time at the agency side, I moved over to the partner side (or the dark side as my agency friends would call it) as a Client Success Manager. I found joy in building lasting client relationships, utilizing my data-first thinking, and truly owning my work managing campaigns. I managed a book of business with 25+ clients (both big and small). I showed up to work everyday utilizing my emotional intelligence to foster connection, learning as much as I could, and always doing my best to positively contribute. I couldn’t ask for a better place to thrive and develop my career.
Unfortunately, at the end of 2024, I was affected by one of the company-wide restructurings leaving my position eliminated along with many of my talented colleagues. It wasn’t in my plan to step back from a position I loved but I took some time to slow down. I leaned into fostering my relationships, create for the sake of creating, and finish my school year out strong.
I am somewhat of a serial hobbyist— I am curious about everything and find that trying new things invites playfulness and connection. During my time off, I started pottery classes after being inspired by Mexico City and now create unique pieces inspired by moments of love and connection from a studio in Santa Monica! …Etsy shop coming soon??
Balance is something I highly prioritize for myself and highly encourage for others as well. Bringing your best self to work everyday cannot happen without balance. Outside of work or school, you’ll likely find me reading, practicing yoga, and/or traveling! It’s these three hobbies that inspire me for all the rest.
In this new year, I am refreshed and more than ready to take that next step in my career. I am confident I have so much positivity and drive to offer and am now looking for the right place with a great people culture to grow alongside. Let’s connect and adventure together!
